Job Summary:

As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and leading technical projects in the logistics domain. Your expertise in API integration and event-driven architecture will be instrumental in shaping the future of our technology stack. 

 

The position will report to the Director of Engineering and is located in our Conshohocken, PA office. Remote 2 days / week.

 DrayNow is rapidly disrupting the logistics Industry by solving the first and last mile problem, starting with the intermodal freight segment. We are the first to create a real-time marketplace for the expanding intermodal freight segment of the shipping market that facilitates frictionless real-time interactions connecting Truckers and Customers to seamlessly haul intermodal loads throughout the United States.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Technical Leadership:
    1. Ensure alignment with best practices and industry standards.
    2. Collaborate closely with product managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  2. Logistics Expertise:
    1. Leverage your deep understanding of the intermodal industry, logistics processes and systems to design and implement software solutions that optimize supply chain operations.
  3. API Integration:
    1. Architect and develop robust APIs for seamless integration with third-party systems, ensuring efficient data exchange and interoperability.
  4. Event-Driven Architecture:
    1. Design and implement event-driven systems to enable real-time processing and decision-making, enhancing the agility and responsiveness of our logistics operations.
  5. Data Science Integration:
    1. Collaborate with data scientists to integrate machine learning models and data-driven insights into our logistics processes, driving optimization and efficiency.
  6. System Scalability and Performance:
    1. Architect and optimize systems for scalability, performance, and high availability to support our rapidly growing user base.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of professional experience building software applications.
  • Experience with JavaScript and JavaScript Frameworks (React, Node, Express, React Native, etc).
  • Experience working with SQL and relational databases, experience with JSONB a plus.
  • Experience with AWS or equivalent Cloud technology.
  • Proficiency in logistics systems and processes. Intermodal industry experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience in API design/development and event-driven architecture.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven project leadership is a plus.
  • Mentoring experience is a plus.
