    The client is looking to hire a Member Techical Staff Senior Engineer that will work out of its Middlesex County Office location. This professional will provide application expertise support to engineering and sales teams to help contribute to a positive pre-sales experience for prospects and existing customers alike.


    Seeking a highly talented opto-mechanical engineer with demonstrated experience in the design, development, analysis, implementation and test of high performance opto-mechanical systems. This engineer will be responsible for systems engineering, detailed design aspects, planning and execution of projects. Projects will be for new and existing products. This work requires the ability to understand and make decisions based upon fundamental engineering principles and is performed with minimal direction. This position exercises considerable latitude in determining the technical objectives of assignments.


    This position reports directly to the Director of Engineering.

    • Work with marketing to develop specifications for new products.
    • Refine product specifications into complete sets of system requirements.
    • Design and develop detailed solution options and select the optimal solution that meets the opto-mechanical subsystem and top-level system requirements.
    • Perform analyses, simulations and experiments to verify that the chosen design will meet all system requirements.
    • Define the baseline system architecture.
    • Define requirements for each of the lower level components in the selected solution.
    • Implement detailed designs.
    • Generate and execute a test plan.
    • Ensure commercially viable and manufacturable products.
    • Other related duties as assigned.


    • Experience in opto-mechanical engineering required.
    • Working knowledge of kinematic design principles, precision adjustment design, material selection, FEA (static stress and modal analysis), thermal analysis and design for manufacturability required.
    • Experience in fiber optic component/modules and hermetic packaging preferred
    • Working knowledge of optical design and analysis preferred.
    • Experience with SolidWorks and Cosmos preferred.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
    • Independent and team oriented work habits required.
    • Must be willing to travel.
