    Company is headquartered in Middlefield, Connecticut. We specialize in optical systems & equipment. Company's optical metrology products include 3D measuring microscopes using coherence scanning interferometry, laser Fizeau interferometers for testing optical components, laser displacement interferometers and heterodyne optical encoders for stage position metrology. Metrology markets for end-user and OEM applications include semiconductor capital equipment, aerospace/defense, automotive, and research. Optics business includes both optical assembly and custom optical components for a wide range of end users, including medical instruments and national labs 

    Responsibilities

    The Network Administrator performs technical work throughout the entire IT
    systems development lifecycle: analyzing IT needs, researching options,
    designing and presenting solutions, implementing and supporting installations.
    Focusing on technical functionality and innovation, the Network Administrator
    will work with the IT Team to secure and stabilize current systems, while
    enhancing and developing new technology. The position will support all levels
    of IT including: servers, workstations, networking infrastructure, mobile devices,
    software, printing services, and communication services

     

    • Manages assigned servers, workstations, and other components including rollout, installation, configuration, and maintenance
    • Resolves problems reported for local and wide area networks, personal computers, and networking equipment (switches, routers, etc.)
    • Provides answers to complex, high-level IT support issues
    • Monitors and measures the performance of the network; reports problems to the appropriate individuals
    • Researches, plans, and oversees assigned server, network and telephone system replacements and upgrades
    • Maintains documentation of all hardware and software under areas of responsibility
    • Establishes and maintains contact with vendors for support and problem resolution
    • Assists in creating end-user IT systems documentation, and assists in the end-user orientation and training

    Qualifications

    • BS in Computer Science or related field, plus 3-5 years related experience, with an MSCE and CNE certification are
    preferred.
    • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
